Why this site exists
Montana is a big state with very different costs from one town to the next. A salary that’s comfortable in Lewistown can be tight in Bozeman, and statewide averages hide that. This site breaks costs down by town and county, shows where every number comes from, and lets you plug in your own figures with the salary calculator, town finder and rent vs. buy calculator.
How we work
- Every figure has a source and a date. Where sources disagree, we show them side by side or use their average and say so.
- When a number is too uncertain to trust, we leave it out and say why, rather than guess.
